I was very surprised by how sad I felt to have this little series come to an end. These were a couple perfect summer reads for me, and I haven't read a series in SO LONG.

Calla, from beginning to end, was on my nerves. But in the way a sister is I guess, because I still enjoyed her overall and felt for her every step of the way. For fans of Virgin River and Heart of Dixie this is another city girl to rural town trope and you can' help but root for them.

The second book clipped my heart a few times as Calla and Jonah discussed their next moves. As someone who made a big life change - and change of address - I felt their angst extra. To have your heart strings pulled by both a person and a place can be such an exhausting battle. The tough conversations and some racing thoughts were so well captured by Tucker.

I remember picking up the little novelette that finishes out this tale, thinking there isn't possibly enough pages here. It a matter of an hour or two the story of Calla and Jonah came to a close and I won't spoil anything but I was emotional as I set the book down.

This was the first book and series I read by KA Tucker, and it won't be the last. I liked the banter of the characters, the distinct differences in the settings of the book, and the hearts worn on sleeves by so many characters.
