The Simple Wild, by K.A. Tucker
Sweet and east read
Endearing character dynamics
Awesome and wholesome setting
3.5 stars
I want to start including some new features to book reviews and recommendations, and I’m starting with this one! After talking with people I learned that we want to know a “if you like that, and try this” type way to decide on a next book.
For fans of:
Virgin River (Books, Show)
Heart of Dixie (Show)
Friends with Benefits (Movie)
...you may like this book!
This is one of the few times I think a character, let alone the main character, has annoyed me so much! That being said, I really enjoyed this story!
I give this book 3.5 stars - very good but predictable. I fell into it and was rooting for this couple while on the beach on vacation. Calla is a hard character (for me) to like but it was also interesting to experience a place I’ve never been (Alaska) through her eyes.
For anyone who likes Heart of Dixie or Virgin River - the transplant of a person from the city to a rural area is a theme I love. They have similar big personality women leads and the ever sarcastic, lovable love interest. I also included the Friends With Benefits movie reference for similar reasons but because the banter between the couple-to-be reminded me of that movie.
This is the second book I’ve read that took place in Alaska, the other one being The Great Alone, and I am blown away by what I learn about it. How remote it still remains, the means by with people live, and what is truly survivable. Such a beautiful, yet dangerous, place to experience for sure.
This book made me want to finish the trilogy and definitely try more KA Tucker books!
